You are right. I can’t imagine myself in your aunt and uncles shoes or that of the shelter. All I know is that you come up on my blog in a condescending way to tell me your super specific story with little details and I’m supposed to take back this idea of adopting > buying. No. If someone is turned down from multiple shelters than there is obviously a reason and they shouldn’t have a dog. If multiple shelters turned me down I would change my lifestyle to fit the needs of the animal I want to share my life with. If that wasn’t possible I would accept that maybe I am not in a position to have an animal in my life at that moment and that hopefully in the future I will be in the position to rescue one.

I can see that you are not against adoption but by standing by someone purchasing a dog from a breeder you are working backwards. It is under no circumstances okay to buy a dog from a breeder or some retail store. I went to a breeder because my local shelter wouldn’t allow me to adopt.

I went to a breeder because I wanted a specific breed and couldn’t find that type of animal in a shelter.

I went to a pet shop because I wanted a baby that I could watch grow.

^ All of the above are irrelevant human motives that have nothing to do with the best interest of animals. If an action is not in the best interest of animals I am not going to “open my mind to it” and I am not going to condone it.
