1. Anonymous asked: i wasn't trying to support buying over adopting. my dog was adopted, i'd never buy from a breeder. there are too many shelter dogs. i'm just saying there are specific situations where it shouldn't be looked down upon. you can't group everyone together. i just think you need to have an open mind about things even if you can't agree with them! you shouldn't have this option where people can ask questions if you're not willing to be patient and listen to their opinions/ideas.

I can see that you are not against adoption but by standing by someone purchasing a dog from a breeder you are working backwards. It is under no circumstances okay to buy a dog from a breeder or some retail store. As soon as you let human motives drive ethical choices about animals people will continue to make up new excuses forever.

I went to a breeder because my local shelter wouldn’t allow me to adopt.

I went to a breeder because I wanted a specific breed and couldn’t find that type of animal in a shelter.

I went to a pet shop because I wanted a baby that I could watch grow.

^ All of the above are irrelevant human motives that have nothing to do with the best interest of animals. If an action is not in the best interest of animals I am not going to “open my mind to it” and I am not going to condone it.
